1724   THOMAS LAMBERT, (Ironmonger).

A member of the Lambert family of Melton Mowbray,

being a son of John Lambert of that town and baptized at the parish church there 29 December 1677. He served his apprenticeship with John Smalley of Leic., iron, monger and mercer, was admitted a freeman 23 Septem, ber 1703, became a councillor 1704,5, an alderman 1717, and bailiff of the borough in 1723 ; resided and carried on his business in Gallowtree Gate, where he died un, married 5 December 1754, aged seventy,seven. He was buried at St. Martin's 8 December. M.I. there. His will, dated 28 November 1750, was proved at Leic. 11 January 1754,5.
