1738 THOMAS BASS, (Innholder).

Son ofJohn Bass of St. Margaret's where he was baptized 15 September 1689 ; was apprenticed to Wm. Burroughs, barber, and made free 11 April 1713. For some years he carried on business as a barber and wig maker, but latterly was an innholder. He joined the corporation about 1721, was a chamberlain in 1724 and became an alderman in 1734; married twice and left issue (vide St. Margaret's registers).

Mr. AId. Bass died 4 and was buried at St. Margaret's 7 July 1754, aged sixty,four. M.I. there. Administration of his goods and personal estate was granted by the Prebendal Court of the Peculiar of St. Margaret's to his relict 25 October 1754. Mrs. Elizabeth Bass, his widow, died in 1756, aged sixty,seven, and was buried at Aylestone. M.I. formerly to be seen in the churchyard there.
