Fifth son of AId. John Denshire of the parish of St.

Nicholas', Leic., where he was baptized 5 December 1699. He was enrolled a freeman 28 February 1721,2, elected a councillor 172 7, one of the borough chamber, lains 1736 and an alderman 1742. He possessed freehold property at Saddington in 1741 ; married at St. Martin's 30 April 1728Elizabeth Gutteridge, she was buried there 9 March 1749,50, aged forty,two, and had issue.

AId. Joseph Denshire was buried at St. Martin's 31 March 1749, aged fifty,one. His will, dated 4 May 1745, was proved at Leic. 15 July 1749.

Arms of Denshire as probably adopted and used by members of the Leic. branch :-Argent, a pale gules, in chief a crescent between two mullets, and in base a mullet between as many crescents, all counterchanged. Crest :-A lion reguardant, holding with both paws an anchor, all proper. Plate 5.
