1752   RICHARD DENSHIRE, (Butcher and Grazier).

Eldest son of AId. John Denshire of Leic., butcher, and

brother of AId. Joseph Denshire, mayor in 1745. He was baptized at St. Nicholas' 23 September 1697, admitted a freeman 9 March 1721~2, elected a councillor 1726, chamberlain 1742 and an alderman 1749; married and had issue.

AId. Richard Denshire is stated to have been a strong Jacobite. He resided latterly in St. Margaret's parish where he died 30 January 1761 in his sixty,fourth year and was interred in the churchyard there. M.l. Ad, ministration of his personal effects was granted by the Prebendal Court of St. Margaret's 10 April 1761 to Catherine Denshire, his relict.
