1798 WILLIAM BELLAMY, (Baker).

Eldest son of William and Mary Bellamy of Leic., and descended from an old Leic. family; was baptized at St. Margaret's 24 March 1740~ 1, enrolled a freeman 28 October 1763, joint chamberlain of the borough 1782, later an alderman; married and left issue. He was a baker, resided and carried on business in Northgate Street for some years. He died 21 June 1800, aged sixty, and was buried in St. Margaret's churchyard beside his wife Elizabeth, who predeceased him in 1778. M.I. there to both. His will, bearing date 13 March 1792, was proved in the Prebendal Court of St. Margaret's 20 October 1800. Second grant 6 December 1802.
