A native of the county son of John WESTON, born Arnsby 1782., bap 20 May 1782 Arnesby., Married  2 Mar 1819 St Margarets, Leicester, Fanny VALENTINE

 

Admitted a freeman of the borough as a "stranger" 18 August 1823, paying a fine of £30 for the privilege.

He joined the newly formed council 26 December 1835 on being returned for East St. Mary's Ward, was elected an alderman 12 June 1844 and appointed a J.P. in 1850. For several years he carried on a small hosiery business in Wellington Street, but at the time of his mayoralty was living in retirement. He died at his residence, King Street, 5 October 1867, aged eighty-four, and by permission of the Home Secretary was buried in St. Martin's church, yard 9 October, where the remains of his wife, who died in 1841, were already resting. M.L there to both. His will with a codicil was proved at Leic. 16 November 1867 on the oaths of William Billson of Leic., bank cashier, and John Baines of Leic., hosier, the executors.
