Son of Charles Lakin of Leic. where he was born in 1849, joined the council 1 November 1885 being returned for Middle St. Margaret's Ward, elected an alderman 26 January 1892, J.P. 1906 ; married and left issue.
Ald. Lakin died on Thursday, 10 February 1916, at The Home Hospital, 77, Princess Road, Leic., aged sixty,seven, and was buried at the Welford Road Cemetery. M.I. Probate of his will was granted at Leic. 22 June 1916 to Charles Ernest Lakin, M.D., Reginald Albert Lakin, gentleman, and Edith Elizabeth Lakin. Effects £9,614 Os. 9d.
