Hold on to our hearts this Valentine's Day
On Valentine's Day (14 February), Leicester residents showed their love for the children's heart unit at Glenfield Hospital by signing a giant card.
We set up the giant Valentine's Day card at the Haymarket Shopping Centre. Measuring 1.8m x 1.2m, the card has now been delivered to Glenfield to volunteers from Heart Link.
Glenfield Hospital Children's Heart Unit is one of the congenital heart disease services under consideration for closure by NHS England. We are supporting the campaign to keep the unit open for Leicester's children and children from surrounding areas.
Glenfield CHU has been incredibly successful, saving young lives for nearly thirty years. Though no decision on closure has been taken yet, it's important we keep the campaign in the public eye.
NHS England is currently running a public consultation on the future of congenital heart services. Your voice matters, so please take part and have your say.
A public question and answer session will be held on 9 March at Leicester Tigers Stadium from 6-8pm.
