Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club launched

Published on 13 April 2017

A NEW monthly breakfast club aimed at giving former servicemen and women a chance to meet and socialise is being launched this weekend.

The city’s first Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club will take place at the Last Plantagenet pub in Granby Street, on Saturday, April 15, from 9.30am to 11.30am.

The club is designed to give former members of the Armed Forces an opportunity to get together regularly for breakfast in a safe, relaxed social environment.

It is being launched by Leicester Lord Mayor Cllr Stephen Corrall – himself a former Coldstream Guard and currently the council’s Armed Forces Champion, as well as being a member of the East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association.

The Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club was founded in Hull in 2007 by former soldier Dereck J Hardman, and has since grown into a global phenomena with events take place as far away as Australia.
