The Olympic flame arrived in Leicester on Monday July 2nd. It was carried though the city centre then along Belgrave Gate and Abbey Park
Road on to a special celebration event at Abbey Park.
Leicester is
one of only a handful of cities in the UK chosen to host an evening event. It ran from 4pm to 8pm and was free to ticket holders.
The torch left the city from Leicester’s Space Centre on July 3rd,
travelling along Belgrave Road and Loughborough Road, before leaving from the
Great Central Railway’s Leicester North Station.
