Introduction to working with children

Course information

This course acts as a stepping stone to our other courses in this area of learning. If you have children in your life, it will provide you with lots of creative ideas to keep them entertained, and you will learn how playing supports their growth and development.

 

Caring for children level 1 award

Course information

This qualification is your starting point to a career with children. Although it doesn't qualify you to work with children or young people, it will help you to develop an understanding of what this might be like. It introduces the knowledge and skills required to care for young children as a professional.

 

Children and young people workforce level 2 certificate

Course information

This qualification is designed to help you build the knowledge and sills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years old. The course covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas within child centered environments and social care such as - a childcare assistant in a nursery, pre-school, creche, school etc. You will need a work placement (paid or voluntary) working with children or young people and must be qualified to level 1 in English and Maths.

 

Supporting teaching and learning level 2 certificate

Course information

This course includes a work placement commitment in a school and is aimed specifically at those wishing to train as teaching assistants. You will learn how to work effectively with teachers and other professionals, as well as supporting children with a range of educational needs. You must be qualified to level 1 in English and maths to be eligible to enrol on to this course.

 

Supporting teaching and learning level 3 diploma

Course information

This course builds on the level 2 course for teaching assistants, and includes a work placement in a school. You will gain an in depth understanding of a teaching assistants work in primary, secondary and special schools. You must be qualified to level 2 in English and Maths to be eligible to enrol on to this course.

 

Early years workforce (early years educator) level 3 diploma

Course information

You will build on your experience of level 2 courses and learn, in depth, about job roles in a variety of early years settings. The age range covered is 0-7 years, and you will need a placement in 0-5 age range. You must have level 2 in English and maths certificates to be eligible to enrol on to this course. This qualification is recognised by early year's employers as the licence to practice in this industry.

 

Children and young people workforce level 3 diploma

Course information

This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas and is split into two pathways 'Social care' and 'Learning and development'. You will need a work placement working with children or young people and must be qualified to level 2 in English and Maths.
