You will be able to apply for your child’s secondary school place for entry in 2024/25 from 9am on Monday 4 September 2023.
September and October 2023 – Open days / events
Details of all planned secondary open days / events will be made available shortly.
31 October 2023 – Closing date
Deadline for applications is midnight. Missing the deadline will significantly reduce your chances of getting a place at the school you want.
1 March 2024 – National offer day
Offers of school places are sent out for all on-time applications. If you applied online, we will send you an email with your application outcome. Letters will also be sent by second class post.
18 March 2024 - Late applications considered (round 1)
Late applications received between 2 November 2023 and 29 February 2024, will be considered after this date.
12 April 2024 – Deadline to submit an appeal
Deadline to submit an appeal to ensure it is heard in the first round of appeals. Appeal against a school place decision.
8 April 2024 – Late applications considered (round 2)
Late applications received from 1 March 2024 will be considered after this date.
From 27 August 2024 - Your child starts school
If your child was not offered a place in your first preference school, they will remain on the waiting list for any higher preference schools until the end of the academic year in July 2025.
