Swimathon
The Swimathon 2008 event will take place between Thursday 17 April and Sunday 20 April 2008 at the following pools:
Aylestone Leisure Centre, Braunstone Leisure Centre, Cossington Street Sports Centre, Evington Pool Leisure Centre, New Parks Leisure Centre and Spence Street Sports Centre.
Dates and times are as follows:
- Thursday 17th April 8.00pm - 10.00pm. This is a speed session aimed at those who intend to complete the 200 lengths in 2 hours or under.
- Saturday 19th April 12.00pm - 3.00pm and 3.00pm - 6.00pm. These sessions are for everybody - individuals and teams and for all challenges.
- Sunday 20th April 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Again, same as above.

Swimathon are delighted to announce that the Swimathon 2008 event will once again be teaming up with Marie Curie Cancer Care. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.
Swimathon is the World's largest swimming fundraising event and 2008 will be our 22nd year. To date Swimathon has raised over £30million for charity, involving 1/2 million swimmers who have swam over 24 times around the World!
The Swimathon Foundation and Marie Curie Cancer Care would like to thank all swimmers, sponsors, volunteers, pool managers and Swimathon organisers for their fantastic support of Swimathon 2007. Swimathon 2007 was an amazing success, raising £1.4million for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Swimathon Foundation and the event was held in a record 585 pools across the UK.
