The Memorial Plaques

Welford Road Memorial Plaques

Created as part of the restoration project, the site of the former chapels is now home to 100 metal plaques, each one dedicated to a notable person buried at Welford Road Cemetery. Each plaque is made from stainless steel and mounted onto a granite slab.

Each plaque contains a little piece of information regarding an individual, with a grave number in the top right hand corner. There are two lecterns to the rear with maps of the Cemetery highlighting the location of each individual’s grave.

There is a leaflet available from the Visitor Centre, and you can download a PDF version of this by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.
