Code of Behaviour on School Transport

  • Always be punctual

  • If waiting at a pick up point maintain safety by keeping away from the road. All Special Needs Children should be supervised whilst waiting for the bus.

  • Embark and alight vehicles in an orderly manner when moving in groups.

  • Wear a seat belt at all times.

  • Always remain seated throughout the journey.

  • All bags / rucksacks should not obstruct the passageway.

  • Only speak to the driver in an emergency whilst he or she is driving

  • Sit quietly in the vehicle. Excessive noise can disturb the driver

  • Wait until the vehicle has stopped before getting up from the seat.

  • Observe vehicle notices such as No Smoking signs.

  • Do not eat, drink, smoke or drop litter in the vehicle.

  • Always follow the instructions of the driver or escort.

  • Be thoughtful towards other passengers

  • Behave sensibly at all times

  • You and your parents are responsible for any damage caused by yourself.

  • Following persistent misbehaviour occurring on transport, action following written warnings may lead to all forms of transport being withdrawn. Taxis will not be used to convey pupils / students as a result of behavioural problems.

Persistant breech of these rules will lead eventually to permanent exclusion to all forms of LA supplied Transport.  In the event the responsibility to ensure your child attends school will be passed to the parents / carer.
