Planning guidance on provision of child care facilities and day nurseries

Day care facilities for pre-school children, in the form of child-minding, play groups, day nurseries and crèches, provide an important community service. They are normally located within residential areas and often use existing houses.

Planning permission may be required if there are new buildings, certain alterations or a change of use of existing buildings.
