Part of New Walk Conservation Area has been designated as an Area of Special Advertisement Control (see the map below). In this area, shop properties have 'deemed consent' to display an external advertisement, promoting the goods or services available at those premises, provided that:

the advertisement is displayed on a wall that has a shop window in it;

the letters, figures or symbols in the design are no more than 0.3m in height;
-
the highest part of the advertisement is no more than 3.6m above ground level;
-
the highest part of the advertisement is no higher than the bottom of the first floor window sill;
-
the advertisement does not exceed in area 10% of the external face of the building, measured up to a height of 3.6m above ground level.
