New Parks Community Centre
New Parks community members are making a commemoration quilt that will be displayed in the local area. The quilt will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. The idea is that as many people as possible make a 6inch (15cm) square. You can knit, embroider, applique, crochet, tie dye, screen print or use fabric paints. In fact anything that you want to make your square.
All you need to do is take your square to the Community Centre on St Oswald Road by the end of June 2012, and they will be sewn together and displayed in the Community Centre, the Library and a range of local public buildings.
So come on, get involved!
For more information and pictures of the quilts progress, please visit the New Parks Community Centre's webpage.
Further events are taking place in the City to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee
