Designed by award-winning architect Rafael Viñoly and officially opened by HRH the Queen on 4 December 2008. Curve is unlike any other theatre with no traditional backstage area separating the world of theatre-making from the public - a truly ‘inside-out theatre’.
Commissioned by Leicester City Council, the building has won
two
prestigious awards from the Royal Institute of British Architects, a prestigious 2010
International Architecture Award and
the ProCon Leicestershire Building of the year award.
Curve is managed and operated by Leicester Theatre Trust an indepenedent charitable organisation with financial support from Leicester City Council and Arts Council England.
