Day Centres in Leicester

Leicester City Council runs and manages a number of days centres across the city, which are open to people with a variety of support needs.

  • Day centres promote independence and help quality of life for adults with
  • physical, sensory and/or learning disabilities or mental health issues.
  • They allow users to socialise and play an active part in the community.
  • They also provide vital breaks for carers. Meals, refreshments and transport can be provided if needed.

Who can use a day centre?

  • To access city council day centres you must have a community care assessment and be assessed as eligible to receive this service under Fair Access to Care Services (FACS) criteria.
  • If you would like to talk about accessing support to meet your social care needs you should discuss this with your social worker.
  • If you do not have a social worker you should contact LeicesterCity Council Adult Social Care and ask to speak to the Access Service.
