St George's

The St Georges conservation area stretches from St Georges Churchyard and parts of Rutland Street to Humberstone Gate and Wharf Street South

It was designated in 1989 and then was extended in 2003 and 2010.

In July 2003, we approved a character statement as supplementary planning guidance to the Leicester Local Plan. We approved an addendum and review of the July 2003 character statement in January 2010 and should be read in conjunction with the character statement. Both documents can be downloaded below.
