Tackling Poverty in Leicester

Governance and monitoring

Publishing this information and clearly setting out our intentions is one step towards tackling the impacts of poverty in Leicester. At Leicester City Council we are committed to building on this work and delivering action to move people nearer to our vision of happy, healthy, engaged citizens who are not held back by poverty.

To do this we will form a panel that will have oversight of the anti-poverty work across the city and will work with council officers and partners to deliver the actions set out in the plan.

As the network of anti-poverty partners develops, we will invite partner organisations to attend a group and feedback on the progress they are making. This group will feed into the panel which will be responsible for the oversight of anti-poverty work and will provide scrutiny and challenge to those delivering the work.

Council officers convening the panel will be responsible for liaising with partners about the work. They will assess and accredit new organisations and individuals who propose to deliver actions that meet the objectives set out in this strategy.
