Covid-19 Additional Relief Fund

The COVID-19 Additional Relief Fund (CARF) is now closed. It was a Government scheme aimed at supporting businesses affected by the pandemic, which were ineligible for existing support linked to business rates liability for 2021-2022 only.

The scheme was implemented in two phases:

  • Phase 1 – through an application process, and;
  • Phase 2 – based on the standard industrial classification of economic activities (SIC codes) and the impact on each sector because of the pandemic, as measured by GVA (gross value added).  This in line with annex A of the Government guidance. This will be automatically awarded to eligible businesses.

Full details on each phase are detailed in our policies, which can be viewed below.

This scheme will have estimated to benefit 2,100 businesses by 30 September 2022.
