Active Leicester coronavirus FAQs

To maintain the safety of our customers and staff, we need to undertake certain measures at our Active Leicester leisure centres due to the national restrictions.

  • Screens at reception desks and helpful information signage throughout our centres
  • Wall mounted hand sanitisers and additional cleaning regimes will remain in place
  • If you’re booked in for a swimming session or lesson, please continue to arrive swim ready to reduce the amount of time spent in the changing rooms
  • We are still encouraging customers & staff to use face mask in communal areas in sites, as well as to remain socially distance.
  • All customer must be a registered prepaid member or Pay as you go Active Leicester card holder.
  • We will be taking card payments only (no cash can be taken at any of our sites)

  • You do not need to book a Swim session at any of our centres, however to avoid disappointment we recommend you pre-book your session at Leicester Leys to secure your visit, during busy periods i.e. school holidays
  • You will need to arrive ‘swim ready’ with your swimming costume under your clothes to limit time in the changing rooms
  • Swimming pool will be run at a 70% capacity.
  • Lockers will be available to store personal items
  • All showers back in use
  • All customers are advised to change as quickly as possible after swimming
  • Any Sauna facilities will remain closed until further notice
  • We will only be taking card payments for any sessions which require payment. (No cash will be taken at any of our leisure centres).

  • Pupils will be required to continue to attend their lesson swim ready to limit time in the changing rooms.
  • Swimming lesson customers observing from viewing areas are encouraged to wear face coverings.
  • All customers that were asked to participate with their children in our preschool classes will no longer be required to go into the pool as our swimming teachers will now back teaching in the water.

  • Gyms will be run at a 70% capacity.
  • You will only be required to book a Gym session at Braunstone and Evington leisure centre. At all other centres you will no longer be required to book in advance.
  • Additional cleaning spray and torque roll will continue to remain in place for customers to clean down equipment.
  • Wall mounted hand sanitisers and additional cleaning regimes will remain in place
  • Dry side changing rooms will be reopen from Monday 19 July

  • Advance booking period 7 days and 3 hours in advance
  • Non-attendance charge will resume
  • Group exercise class will run at a 70% capacity.
  • Additional cleaning spray and torque roll in place for customers to support cleaning regime
  • We will continue to have additional time allocated between classes for cleaning of equipment before and after class

  • Advance booking period 7 days and 3 hours in advance
  • Non-attendance charge will resume
  • We will follow the Industry guidance for court capacity

  • From June 26 sessions will be following current British Gymnastics and Government guidance. This will include the continuation of regular cleaning of equipment and sanitising stations. (We no longer need to reduce capacities or implement colour bubbles).
  • Spectating of sessions will not be allowed at any of our sites.
  • For any other site-specific information, you can speak to your Gymnastics coach or call the centre directly

  • Public swim sessions will run weekly at New Parks on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Monday 12 July at 1pm – 2.30pm.
