Call goes out to festive stallholders

TRADERS interested in taking a stall at Leicester Market’s first Christmas Festive Fair are being urged to apply now to secure their pitch.

With less than 100 days to go before the fair opens in the city’s new market square, event organisers are keen to hear from the makers, bakers and artists who will help make the fair one of the highlights of Leicester’s events programme this Christmas.

Market business manager Sonya Spink said: “We want to fill the new market square with stalls offering everything from Christmas gift ideas and homemade crafts, to mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.

“We’ll be creating the perfect Christmas atmosphere for traders and shoppers, with Alpine-style wooden chalets, festive music and plenty of twinkling lights.

“Demand for stalls will be high, so we’re inviting traders who are keen to be part of our first ever Christmas Festive Fair to get in touch with us as soon as possible to find out how to secure their pitch.”

Leicester’s Christmas Festive Fair is being organised by Leicester City Council in association with Fraser Urquhart Media.

Carey York of Fraser Urquhart Media said: “We’re proud to be working with the city council to bring this Christmas Festive Fair to Leicester  – and the new market square is the perfect place to host it.

“We’re looking for more than 45 traders and makers from around the world to make this a very special event – and to make sure that shoppers will be able to find some incredible Christmas gifts that you won’t find on the High Street.”

Leicester’s Christmas Festive Fair will be open daily from Thursday 23 November until Saturday 23 December.
