IF you see fire engines, police and ambulances descending on Abbey Pumping Station next weekend, there’s no cause for alarm.
The pumping station museum is hosting its Emergency Services Day on Sunday, April 29, showcasing the very finest emergency vehicles from past and present.
The event, which runs from 1pm to 5pm, will also demonstrations of the station’s pumping engines, the RNLI’s boating pond, children’s rides on a fire engine and steam train trips.
Visitors can round off their day out with a bag of chips from the museum’s coal-fired vintage chip van.
Admission costs £3.50 for adults, and is free for accompanied children.
