Repayable home repair grants are available for vulnerable homeowners whose property fails to meet the decent homes standard.
Vulnerable households are defined as homeowners who are receiving one of the main means tested benefits. The grants can be used to deal with anything that causes the property to fail the decent homes standard for which other public funds are not available.
Repayable grants of between £1000 and £10000 are available for vulnerable homeowners whose properties don't meet the decent homes standard. This money can be spent on any work where public funds aren't available to pay for it.
The maximum amount can be exceeded in exceptional cases, and the grant will become repayable when the property is sold or ownership is transferred. The grant is interest-free.
We have an in-house service to help you get estimates for the work, to deal with the paperwork and ensure the work is completed to a satisfactory standard.
