Climate Ready Leicester Warm Home Surveys

We offer an impartial personalised warm home survey to give advice on the best way to upgrade your home to reduce energy bills, lower carbon emissions, and enhance home comfort and warmth.

Here's how it works

The Warm Home Survey service is for homeowners and private tenants in Leicester, and is entirely free for fuel poor households. For others, a fee of £100 for your home visit and report is charged.

Prequalification check

We have a phone or email conversation with you to establish the type of advice you need, if there are any grant schemes we can refer you to, or if you would benefit from a free home visit.

In-person advice

We’ll do a free desktop assessment, or if a home survey is required, or our impartial surveyor will conduct a visit at a convenient time to assess your property’s current energy usage and how you use energy in your home.

Tailored plan

We create a step-by-step plan for you, detailing energy-saving improvements suitable for your property and the level of energy savings you could expect to achieve if you carried out the improvements.

Guidance and resources

We provide information on local and national grant schemes that you might qualify for, or advice about how to find a suitable installer should you be able to pay for the improvements.

How to apply

To apply for some in-person advice please complete our online form.

We aim to respond to email enquiries within five working days.

  1. After a brief prequalification conversation via phone or email we will inform you of the next steps.
  2. Fuel poor households who would benefit from in-person advice via a home visit can get this free of charge. We charge a fee of £100 for a home visit for those not in fuel poverty.
  3. If you’re not interested in a home visit we can still offer phone advice about grants you might be eligible for, and how to apply.

How the Warm Home Surveys project is funded

We won £194,228 of funding following a successful bid to the Government’s Local Energy Advice Demonstrator Programme (LEAD).

We are one of nine successful applicants in the Midlands to be awarded funding to run an innovative home energy advice pilot project.

The funding is from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, working with the Midlands Net Zero Hub to deliver the programme in partnership with us.

The project will run until March 2025.

Our goal is to assist 1,000 households by offering in-person advice and for at least 600 of them to install the most suitable and effective upgrades for their homes.
