Riverside Festival

Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June 2019

Spread over two days, the event is situated at Bede Park, along Western Boulevard next to the River Soar and Castle Gardens and is within easy walking distance from the city centre.

As well as the focus on the river, there is a general environmental theme to the festival. With visitors numbering over 40,000 spread across two days in previous years, the event appeals to all age groups from across Leicester and Leicestershire.

Trading and catering boats will be required to submit the following booking form for this event:

Display your art on the river

We are inviting local artists to show their artwork along Western Boulevard. You will be allocated a 3m space in which to put up your artwork. It will be attached to the railings along the river bank. Wire and cable ties will be provided. To submit an express of interest, please see the documents below:

Navratri celebrations at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre

Sunday 29 September to Monday 7 October, plus extra day Sunday 12 October

Navratri has been celebrated at the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre for many years. It is a very successful event and attracts more than 4,000 people over the nine days (plus one) event. It is a very unique event in the sense that the Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre is the only venue operating this activity (in Leicester) during the afternoons (2pm to 5pm). This allows for elderly people (who find it difficult to venture out in the evenings), to be included in the Navratri celebrations. The celebration (as aforementioned) is primarily for the elderly.

This year’s celebrations will run from Sunday 29 September 2019 to 7 October 2019 plus one extra day – Sharad Poonam which takes place on Sunday 12 October 2019. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday 10 April, 5pm.
