Employing a personal assistant

A personal assistant can help you with personal care and everyday tasks, such as washing, dressing and preparing meals.

Many people who have been assessed for care and have been given a personal budget now choose to select a personal assistant themselves, rather than asking us to do it for them.

The contact details on MyChoice are displayed to facilitate direct approaches being made by people in receipt of a direct payment and families that want to be able to commission their own care arrangements. We do not accept any responsibility for the information provided or for any private commissioning arrangements. If you directly employ a personal assistant for yourself or for the care of a family member, this is done under separate legal arrangements which do not involve us.
