Castle
The Castle conservation area was created in 2007 as a modification to Castle Gardens conservation area, which was one of the first three in the city.

The conservation area predominantly covers the former castle precinct as well as part of the land to the south of the Newarke.
A character appraisal was adopted in 2007 and can be downloaded below.
The properties 15-21 The Newarke are covered by an Article 4 Direction which restricts permitted development rights for alterations. A copy of the direction can be downloaded below.
