Planning and development
What we're doing about planning, building and sustainable development in Leicester including projects.
Adopted planning policy
The development plan is formed by national and local documents which set out policies for planning applications to be assessed against.
Emerging planning policy
We have started work on the production of a new local plan for the city. The plan will guide new development within Leicester.
Planning policy evidence base
Documents that provide a local evidence base on the key social, economic and environmental characteristics and issues of the city.
Land and building asset registers
We are responsible for keeping a number of registers relating to land and building assets.
Neighbourhood planning is a new right for communities. It gives them direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood.
Community infrastructure levy
Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a new charge that local authorities can place to help fund infrastructure that is needed to support new development.
Ashton Green development project
Ashton Green is seen as the most innovative and sustainable new development in Leicester
We have submitted a bid for £1.1 million of funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to regenerate the cathedral and Greyfriars area of Leicester's old town.
