Skills Fund (open call 3)
The open call 3 focuses on the UKSPF investment priorities within our programme of supporting local businesses. We will utilise approximately £1.2m of UKSPF funding to support skills development within Leicester.
What type of bids do we encourage?
We would like to see applications which support skills training across a range of sectors:
- Green skills/retrofit
- Construction
- Creative sector
- Textile
- Customer service
- Other
The training should be focused on support individuals to level 1 or 2 across the above sectors.
Capital funding will also be invited for organisations that would like to seek capital funding to enhance their training provision or facility. A separate capital application form will need to be completed available below

The documents provide information on the objectives of the UKSPF Leicester, the specific grant call, the types of projects we intend to support, and the process and section criteria that will be used to assess bids.
What funding is available?
This will be an approximately 10-month contract from June 2024 to March 2025, for revenue and capital funding.
We are anticipating allocating this funding to between five to seven organisations through this open call given the range of activities looking to support.
Eligibility
Any legally constituted organisation can make an application. This includes local authorities, public sector organisations, higher and further education institutions. Private sector organisations and registered charities can also submit bids and be project deliverers where they are providing a service to benefit other organisations or individuals but cannot receive support if the intention of the project is to further their own business or organisation, for example, through the purchase of equipment or offsetting additional staffing or other costs.

To bid, you must must complete and submit the following documents by email to ukspf.programme@leicester.gov.uk.
Bids submitted in any other format will not accepted.
Deadline for bids
Bids must be submitted by midnight, 8 March 2024.
The UKSPF Leicester is a competitive process and we will not enter into discussions with bidders.
